Microsoft Intune and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) are both services that help manage devices and users in an organization, but they have different functions:
Azure AD
A universal identity management platform that controls who can access a company’s network and applications, and how devices can be used. Azure AD is also known as Microsoft Entra ID.
Intune
A cloud-based mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) service that helps secure users and devices. Intune provides device state information to Azure AD for authentication, and policies created in Intune can be assigned to users, devices, and groups
