Why AAD B2C ?
One might ask, with AAD already offered on Azure, why was there a need for a separate B2C offering for external customers?
The answer is two fold
- The VOLUME of external customers far outweighs that of internal customers. This is true for most organizations. Hence, for pure scalability concerns, a separate tenant was devised by Microsoft.
- The ability to CUSTOMIZE the user (customer) experience is a key differentiator between AAD B2C and regular AAD.
